Current Opportunity: Loader / Grader Operator (2-Month Contract)

Location: Rural work in the Cloncurry area
Start Date: Immediate
Employment Type: Part-time, Contract
Duration: 2 months (potential for extension)


About the Role:


Burnett Contracting Pty Ltd is seeking a reliable, self-motivated Loader/Grader Operator for a short-term contract with the possibility of ongoing work. Based in Cloncurry, this role involves operating heavy equipment for rural and civil works, including dam desilting, road building, fence lines and firebreaks. You'll be expected to complete daily machinery checks, perform basic maintenance, and carry out tasks safely and efficiently while meeting station standards.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Operate a loader and/or grader for rural infrastructure work
  • Complete daily equipment checks and basic servicing
  • Work independently or to a roster depending on project needs
  • Maintain safe and efficient work practices on site

Requirements:


  • Proven experience operating loaders and/or graders
  • Prior experience with dam sinking or desilting
  • Ability to work alone for periods of time and follow a roster
  • Must be able to provide two references
  • Must pass an employment fit check
  • Transport provided to and from the site


Desirable:


  • Previous experience working on remote stations or rural properties
